Cyrus - Looking Back

One of the unsung heroes of dubstep, Cyrus has always lurked behind the scenes, from the early days as a dark garage DJ to his fantastic 2007 album, From The Shadows. Pushing the deeper, meditative side of the sound, Cyrus has fired out some of the best tunes the darker side of dubstep has to offer.

(Big up GetDarker TV)

Following on from his amazing release on DEEP MEDi, Manhatten Blues, Cyrus is delivering us this deep cut, Looking Back, coupled with equally as deep a cut, Soul Seeker.

One notable thing about all of Cyrus' production is the amazing attention to detail on the percussion. I could reel off a list of tunes from his back catalogue, all with amazingly well produced and, most importantly, interesting drums.

Anyone a fan of bass music would do well to cop Looking Back / Soul Seeker out on Distance's Chestplate label, with vinyl shipping this friday from Chemical and digital MP3 downloads presumably  soon to follow.
Keep an eye out for partner in crime Tunnidge, on the buttons tomorrow.

  2. I want this. I need to re listen with real speakers or something, I know that had more potential than I heard.

  3. If you have speakers with a decent bass response it certainly warrants a re-listen. The bass on the drop is equal parts soothing and punishing.

  4. I love the heavy bass sound, but my stereo system lacks bass I need more >_<. Maybe I should save up on some audiophile headphones because high end stereo systems are way out of my budget =/

  5. I'd love some real high-quality headphones myself. Personally I use PC speakers with a subwoofer for most music listening. They're obviously not ideal for music that really deserves audiophile sound (I use my moderate headphones for that), but the subwoofer is absolutely perfect for a lot of the bass heavy music I listen to,

  7. Hahah, tell me about it. Don't think I didn't try and embed Soundcloud before trying Youtube. Soundcloud parrin' off html though by the looks of it.

Ignore the images though. All about the musical vibes.
